Social commitment
The ‘1.000 kilometer van Kom op tegen Kanker’ is an initiative of the Flemish Cancer Foundation. It is a cycling trip and the participants collect money to support research into cancer treatment. Intervest sponsors the 2011 edition (2 through 5 June).
In 2007 the christmas cards budget was donated to Make-A-Wish® Belgium-Vlaanderen vzw. In 2008 Intervest Offices makes it possible for Make-A-Wish® Belgium-Vlaanderen vzw to realise the dream of terminally ill child (Daantjes wish becomes true).
The Make-A-Wish Foundation fulfils the wishes of terminally ill children between 3 and 18 years.
In December 2008, Intervest Offices bought its Christmas cards from the Flemish league against cancer (VLK - Vlaamse Liga tegen Kanker).
The VLK is the central information centre for everyone involved with cancer: patients, their friends and family, the medics and paramedics, researchers and everyone concerned with prevention or psychosocial assistance. The league strives to be the official conversation partner of the government so that the money from its donators and campaigns can be spent as efficiently as possible.
